How To Transfer Your Domain into Porkbun From a Different Registrar

This guide will outline the process of how to transfer your domain into Porkbun from a different domain name registrar.

For a seamless transfer of registrar, it’s imperative to have the following requirements ready in order to transfer the domain to Porkbun.

  • You must own the domain or be authorized to transfer it
  • Obtain and double-check the Authorization/EPP code (case-sensitive)
  • Domain should not be less than 60 days old and not under the redemption period
  • Privacy of the domain should be removed
  • Transfer locked should be turned off
  • Ensure that the domain’s contact data is up to date

  1. Sign in to your Porkbun account. Click “Transfer,” found at the top menu.

  2. Enter the domain name you wish to transfer as well as the authorization/EPP code obtained from the current registrar. Click “Submit.”

  3. A new field will appear at the bottom. This time, select “Add Transfers to Cart.”

  4. Review the cart and the billing details and proceed with the transfer.

  5. An email will be sent confirming the transfer. Once the current owner acknowledges the transfer, the domain transition will start.

  6. You can check the transfer status of the domain by clicking on the Products tab at the top-left menu and choosing “Transfers.”
